the last weekend of August...

and again I didn't spend it at home.
Headed over to Sue and George's for csevab for dinner on Thursday night, and stayed until Sunday again. Thursday night we saw deer again in their back field, and watched the moon come out - it was so bright!

Friday and Saturday, I helped them a teeny bit on their yard work, they were happily mowing away on their tractors, enjoyed the weather when I could, took pictures of the wild birds that frequent their spot, even caught a picture of the rodent that has been digging holes in their yard. We went for walks in the evening, fed the neighbours horses, took a drive to the back of their lot and took pictures from there too, it's absolutely beautiful. We watched a couple of movies too, but for the most part I was on my laptop updating July and August blog entries (I now am all caught up for the summer). Just a few more entries from the first half of the year - and then I'll be all caught up for this year.

Sunday, Sue and George invited our Godparents over - and it was great to visit with them as well. A fantastic afternoon - even if it had to be indoors as it was raining all day today.

On the way home from the homestead, I saw a deer out in their neighbour's field, and then when I turned onto the sub-road towards the highway - I was so pleased to see a moose eating in the field. I was also pleased I had my camera on the front seat, I took the photos and then watched it for a few minutes, they are magnificent animals.

I have had a wonderful summer - hope everyone else has too!

Szalona Sutes with the Family...

So, Nancy and Mom had a fantastic idea to get the family together for a szalona sutes this summer and Sue offered their place for the location, so this Sunday we headed over to the homestead.
With lots of laughs on the trampoline and around the fire-pit...

While up by the trampoline, Nancy sighted some deer in the distance (you can just barely see them in the zoomed in picture below).
Poor Mom, by the time she made her way up to the trampoline - the deer had already jumped into the brush. She still hasn't seen any out at Sue and George's.

So, the fire was perfect, Dad set-up a bunch of szalona, the children took their seats and settled in to start roasting and 5 minutes later...

the hail hit, it hailed for about 30 minutes, and rained/stormed for another 30 minutes more. After quickly moving most of everything into their garage, we watched our szalona cooking out in the hail but then Dad and George brought the firepit to the entrance of the garage and we were once again cooking the szalona, laughing and having a great time. We were not going to let the hail ruin the day for us!

After it stopped, we once again headed back outside to play some ball...

play ring-around-the-posie...

airplane rides and once again enjoyed the outdoors.

It was a fantastic afternoon and one we will all remember for a long-time!

Brahms

First time dog-sitting Brahms (while Nancy ,Robb and the children went to Drumheller).
For the most part he was just great - loved playing in their backyard!
Although he is still young he listens well and already knows to stay out of the garden beds. As soon as his ball would role into the garden bed perimeter - he stops and waits for me to get it out for him. Here are just a few of my favorite photos...

A perfect day for a picnic...

Julie and Steve invited a bunch of us to a picnic at their community lake in Sundance. From the yummy kolbasz, to watching swimmers training and Laci, Kati and her nieces on the paddle boat and watching Vincent and Eve play, enjoying the company and the weather, there was just the slightest breeze from the lake to keep it a perfect temperature - what a perfect day for a picnic!

A great way to cool off - get your head dunked in the water!

Great start to a weekend!

I headed over to Nancy and Robb's on Thursday Night to join Nancy at a Stella and Dot Trunk Show and ended up staying at their place until Saturday night. And although I didn't have my camera with me (so no pics this time), I had a fantastic time playing indoors, outdoors, shopping about and catching up/chatting with Nancy and Robb. I love the imagination of Gabor and Aniko, everything is exciting and new, I love their enthusiasm at playing, their giggles and laughter and of course the bear hugs! I can't help but be happy around them!

Another great weekend...

So, another great weekend, I went over to Sue and George's on Friday and ended up staying until Sunday Night. Friday, we went for a walk down to the main road, and while we were taking photos of some of the wild-flowers, their neighbours stopped and asked if we were looking at the Moose up the way, we just caught a glimpse of it heading into the woods. Well, we know look everywhere! We spent time outside again, soaking up the sun and enjoying the evening sunsets, and feeding Whiskey and Bandit (the neighbour's horses). I also spent a few hours one morning at their window taking photos of the many birds that visit their trees and birdhouses, we have identified all the ones we saw, although I didn't have my camera with me on this visit - I'll have to get the photos from Sue and George.

Sunday, Mom and Dad, Nancy, Robb, Gabor and Aniko all came out to Sue and George's and we spent a lovely afternoon chatting and playing around.

Just as I was leaving, we spotted some deer outside their house - poor Mom she left again before the deer came out and missed seeing them again.

White Rabbits and the first of August.

Went to spend time with Mom and Dad for a quick coffee and ended up spending most of the day with them. Which turned out to be a great day!
After which, Sue and George invited me over for a movie - meanwhile we saw a deer outside their place.

Monday, I spent the time at home doing laundry and organizing stuff at home. What a great long weekend - I really enjoyed myself this weekend and what a great time!

High River and Saskatoon Berry Farm

So, the girls met together to go exploring in High River today, among others we visited an Antique store where we had fun looking at unique items and enjoyed the ambiance of the store. We had to convince Judit that she didn't need this sofa...

(JUST KIDDING)

We stopped in at the Whistle Stop for lunch, where I treated myself to an old fashioned root beer float, veggie sandwich, and yes I also had soup...

The Whistle Stop is next to the High River Museum where they recently had the fire, we could see part of the overhang on the back where it had burned and could still smell the fire.
A few other neat items spotted in our excursion in High River...

On the way back, we stopped in at Saskatoon Berry Farm to look around...

And fool around...

On the way home...

Night out at Baton Rouge

We went to Baton Rouge tonight for dinner and although Steve was out of town (and missed), we all had a great time with many laughs and great food!
I had the BBQ ribs and chicken and it was fantastic!

We had entertainment too - Gyula telling stories...

And of course, we had dessert too....

and to finish off the meal we girls had Brazilians, that's Brazilian coffees :)

It was a fantastic night out!

And the fun continues....

So after breakfast, we all headed over to Sue and George's and continued the fun.
Jumping on the trampoline...

Out and about exploring...

Fun with hairstyles, playing with Sheba, relaxing and eating a snack...

The table is the one Nancy and I used as children.

And the best place to watch TV? Must be on Apa's lap..

First Szalona Sutes of 2010

Thursday Night headed over to Nancy and Robb's for a Szalona Sutes with their neighbours, it was a beautiful night with great company and of course fantastic szalona, and the first of the year (for me)!

I ended up staying the night and Friday morning it was breakfast out on their patio, listening to music, dancing and playing with the children!
